Who is it aimed at?
Adults with mental health issues attending resocialisation programmes

What does it involve?
An educational programme structured around formative encounters, hands-on activities and workshops with artists

How does it work?
Zaha Hadid’s complex architecture offers multiple interstices and sloping corners, marginalised with respect to the exhibition configurations and hence privileged points of departure for observing MAXXI from a new perspective. It is here that the participants in this project will be located, divided into small groups to observe the corners of the museum from the corners, establishing at the same time a dialogue with the architectural space, with the works and with the visitors

ABC of the contemporary

Are you over sixty years old and have only just discovered that contemporary art might be your thing? MAXXI’s waiting for you!

Who is it aimed at?
Retired adults

What does it involve?
A training programme designed for adults who would like to perform an active role in the life of MAXXI as “reception volunteers” in the museum spaces.

How does it work?
MAXXI has developed a special programme for adults who, as pensioners, have free time available and are interested in getting a closer view of the world of contemporary art. The participants will follow a training programme and may become an important resource for the museum while enjoying a stimulating and gratifying experience within a developing cultural institution. The participants will acquire and develop knowledge and skills they may put at the disposal of the MAXXI public by providing reception and orientation services at the Education Department desk, illustrating the information material regarding the museum and its activities and by accompanying friends and relations to the exhibitions as guides.

MAXXI in relief

Who is it aimed at?
Sighted, partially sighted and blind people of all ages.

What does it involve?
A didactic workshop dealing with the MAXXI architecture.

How does it work?
The workshop communicates MAXXI’s extraordinary spatial qualities and the fascinating way in which Zaha Hadid designed them to people with visual disabilities. Exploiting multi-sensorial and synesthetic strategies and the evocative and metaphorical potential of materials, the workshop can add complexity and richness to the perceptive experience of all visitors.
