An innovative storytelling experience, based on surveillance videos, film and audio-visual experimentation.
Every one of us is filmed by surveillance cameras around 300 times a day: the same cameras that show us Qing Ting who is preparing to become a Buddhist monk when Ke Fan falls in love with her but breaks the law and ends up in prison.
Having served his time, he finds that she has reinvented herself on the web as a star. Using surveillance camera images, the film by Xu Bin (China/United States 2017, 81’), selected for the Locarno Film Festival, is an innovative storytelling experience through images and sounds, mid-way between film and experimental video.
