Three seminars with readings and reflections on the craft of writing
One of the most prestigious and sought-after Italian literary prizes that for almost 70 years has inflamed cultural passions and debates, for some writers the Premio Strega has represented the consecration of a long career while for others it has acted as a powerful trampoline. Accompanied by Stefano Petrocchi, director of the Fondazione Bellonci, the prize-winning authors – Paolo Cognetti, Fabio Genovesi and Walter Siti – reflect on the craft of writing in the light of the watershed that winning the prize has represented for them.
In the third seminar we shall be meeting Walter Siti, winner of the Premio Strega in 2013 with Resistere non serve a niente (Rizzoli), on the occasion of the release last spring of Bruciare tutto and the recent republication of Il contagio (both published by Rizzoli) in an updated version with a previously unpublished chapter.
Walter Siti is a native of Modena and now lives in Milan. He has taught at the universities of Pisa, Cosenza and L’Aquila. He is the editor of the complete works of Pier Paolo Pasolini and, from 2013, the director of “Granta Italia”. Among his books, mention should also be made of Scuola di nudo and Troppi paradisi.
