An overview of the complex scenario in which we have immersed ourselves for some decades: the globalization of the social and economic networks, the organizations that develop “bottom up”, the production, storage and use of big data.

This new ecological environment requires an equally new cognitive and cultural paradigm based on the concepts of networks, systems and complexity. Consequently it also requires a new way of visualising and efficiently communicating without compromising the meaning of these enormous masses of data that characterise our actions and way of being.

An exploration together with the public of the images that interpret the new complex and global environment in which we move: from the rationality of the logic maps to the tangled webs of the social networks, from the suggestions of the word clouds to the frequently visual games of infographics, in order to learn to identify the traps and ambiguities that may underlie visualisations of networks and complex systems.

In conclusion the public will be guided in the construction of a tag-cloud capable of describing the shared concepts of the evening spent together.
