The latest appointment in the project Narrations from Museum to Museum

In Gallery 3, which currently houses the exhibition Transformers, a group of young people from the Central Astalli’s Aver Drom project sitting on the installation by Martino Gamper will talk to the public about their experience in the MAXXI and Pigorini museums, giving their own personal and previously unheard point of view on the theme of transformation.

Starting out from the installation Disarm by the Mexican artist Pedro Reyes in which arms “transform” into musical instruments, the young people have used diverse techniques to transform certain objects from the Pigorini Museum’s African collection, mostly traditional arms and war clothing: painting, drawing, manipulation and collage contribute to a true deconstruction of the object of war, reconfiguring it on the basis of their own stories and idiosyncrasies, explicating this reconfiguring of meaning through the narration that accompanies the work and its realisation.

The young people will then play the percussion instruments of CivicoZero with Toni Williams.
