On the occasion of the exhibition TAV. Bologna-Milano. Photography Research Territory (15 March – 21 April 2013), MAXXI is presenting an encounter with William Guerrieri, director of Linea di Confine for Fotografia Contemporanea, Tiziana Serena, a lecturer in the History of Photography, and the photographers Vittore Fossati, Guido Guidi, Cesare Ballardini and Marcello Galvani.
Also participating in the conversation will be Antonello Frongia, a lecturer in the History of Photography at the Roma Tre University, Francesco Careri, director of MAAC – Master Internazionale di II livello Arti Architettura Città, Giovanni Longobardi, a lecturer in Architectural Design at the Roma Tre University, who will be discussing the experience of one of the most significant territorial investigation projects, that has successfully shed light on the physical and social impact of the economic processes of globalization through national and international photography of the highest level.
The investigation into the construction of the imposing infrastructure for the High Speed link between Bologna and Milan between 2003 and 2009 represents an opportunity for reflection on planning ethics in relation to the local territory, on the social and cognitive role of photography and on its relationship with architectural design and planning.
The encounter will be presented by Francesca Fabiani, head of the MAXXI Architettura photography collection.
