Artist, activist, critic and theorist Piero Gilardi is one of the most versatile and important individuals in the current artistic scene. Ever since he made his debut in the mid-60s, Gilardi has been at the crossroads of many international avantgarde artistic movements. His research and activity have always focused on a contemporary understanding of the relationship between man and nature. Nature undergoes a physical and conceptual transformation when it comes into contact with industrialisation and technological progress, and reflects upon the great challenges of this time, namely ecology, biopolitics, ethics and sustainability.

Auteur conversations. Meet the protagonists of the MAXXI Collections
13 April – 22 June 2017
We are back with a cycle of events aimed at describing the creative and poetic processes underlying the projects and works of great international artists together with experts, curators, professors and art critics. This is an opportunity to become acquainted with the ideas and protagonists of contemporary art and architecture starting from architectural creative processes, up to the new nuances of art objects.
Auteur conversations project is supported by MINI, MAXXI Public Programs Partner
