How do you structure an educational project in a museum institution? How do you pinpoint the best instruments and strategies for different audience targets?
What are the criteria for checking and assessing a project?
Museums are living institutions, and thus change constantly: they are increasingly becoming meeting and social places, open to dialogue with communities, with the aim of enabling visitors to become active participants in their daily life.
The museum proposes an intensive course within its high education programme called MAXXI Know-How based upon the work that MAXXI Education has been carrying out for more than a decade.
THE TRAINING PROGRAMME
The course offers an international overview on museum education through direct interaction with professionals who have carried out innovative projects for schools, teenagers and adults, providing interesting examples of best practices as a source of inspiration. Building upon MAXXI Education’s project methodology, strategies and instruments for independent planning will be shown.
The course, which is to take place over a six-day period, is composed of two parts: the first one will see the provision of materials and contents that are paramount for planning through case studies and in-depth meetings; the second workshop phase will see the participants formulate an educational project draft for specific audience targets, who will assess its effectiveness during a final discussion. The course will be held in both Italian and English.
THE TARGET
The course is targeted to experts and professionals in the field: museum educators and new professionals who want to learn how to structure an educational project for different audience targets.
The course will be activated with a minimum of 15 participants and a maximum of 30.
WHEN
The training course will be held at MAXXI from Monday 19th to Saturday 24th March 2018, from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm.
THE COST
Each participant is to pay € 560.00.
Members of ICOM and holders of the myMAXXI card will pay € 520.00 for the course. (any travel, accommodation and subsistence expense will be borne by the participants).
HOW TO PARTECIPATE
To apply, fill out the following form by 22nd February 2018.
MAXXI will select the participants based on their resume by 1st March 2018.
The participation fee is to be paid by 6th March 2018.
