Museum Selfie Day is back: a whole day devoted to unrepentant selfie-ists.
Visitors, curators, staff, passers-by and even mascots are invited to participate in this event on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and to share the photos taken in museums throughout the world.
MAXXI too is participating in the initiative: take a selfie, use the hashtags #MuseumSelfie and #MAXXIselfie and for a day at least you too can become a protagonist of contemporary art.
The selfie spot will also be waiting for you in the piazza, ready to show you the best place to take a selfie!
Did you know that from last June you can freely take photos in museums?
1 June 2014 saw the implementation of the Legislative Decree 31 May 2014 No. 83 regarding urgent dispositions for safeguarding cultural heritage, developing culture and nurturing tourism (converted into Law 29 July 2014, No. 106). The cultural decree of the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, in fact states that it is “permitted to freely take photographs in museums for personal, not-for-profit use. Archival resources and books are excluded, with the current norms for consultation and access to documents being retained.”
