The restoration and redevelopment work overseen by Mario Botta for the new face of Palazzo Querini Stampalia
Between 1994 and 2014, Mario Botta accompanied the growth of the Fondazione Querini Stampalia of Venice, in terms of the cultural offer and the service made available to the city, with a sequence of precise, measured interventions that, despite the discontinuity of their execution, have succeeded in establishing a new order, configuring a homogeneous organism in which the individual architectural gesture is diluted within the continuity of the story and underlies a continual dialogue with the pre-existing.
The seminar will see the presentation of the book Mario Botta. Querini Stampalia, edited by Mario Gemin (Giavedone, 2015) that illustrates through texts, drawings and large format photos by Alessandra Chemolla, the new face of Palazzo Querini Stampalia on completion of the work overseen by Mario Botta.
