A workshop on the museum’s Permanent Collection: have fun learning English through contemporary art with mother-tongue educators!
The workshop, conducted entirely in English, is divided into two parts: the exploratory visit to the Permanent Collection and the “hands-on workshop”.
During the exploratory visit, the educator will invite to the children and adults to name and describe the exhibition space and the types of work on show, focussing on one work at a time. Installations, videos, models and photographs become the objects of discussions thanks to simple questions, useful in identifying certain key words to be used in the workshop phase.
In the second part, during the “hands-on workshop”, the children and adults will reinterpret together using diverse media and materials the works analysed, forming new complete sentences with the key words identified earlier. We shall begin with… Preparing the flute by William Kentridge.
Curated by MAXXI Educazione in collaboration with the Associazione Art and Seek for Kids. An activity promoted by the British Council within the ambit of the Outline Agreement with the Fondazione MAXXI.
