This is a cult masterpiece by Peter Weir, (USA 1989, 124 minutes) with Robin Williams and Ethan Hawke. In 1959, at the austere all-boys college of Welton, a group of teenagers are inflamed with life, culture, courage, and fragility thanks to the arrival of a new teacher.
What made this film a cult? Was it the simple and touching performance by Williams? Was it the prodigious talent of the teenaged actors? Or was it Weier’s direction that starting with Picnic at Hanging Rock turns every college into a mysteriously trascendent place?
A special guest will present the movie: Carlo Valli, Robin Williams’ Italian voice.
