Museum Night 2011

Free admission to MAXXI from 8 PM on the 14th to 2 AM on the 15th of May
(last entrance at 1 AM)

MAXXI will be participating in Museum Night, a Europe-wide event promoted by MiBAC that offers free admittance to museums and archaeological areas in the evening and during the night, allowing all those hampered by the usual opening hours to enjoy an exciting and unusual cultural experience.

Programme:

20:30 – 22:00
RIETVELD WORKSHOP FOR FAMILIES
free admittance while places are available / reservation fully booked
max 30 participants including adults and children of between 4 and 14
reservations must be made via mail: edumaxxi@fondazionemaxxi.it from Thursday 12 May (open for reservations through to Saturday 14 May at 12:00)
Architect, craftsman and carpenter, interior and furniture designer, one of the first to create furniture for children: MAXXI is staging the first monographic retrospective in Italy of the work of Gerrit Rietveld (Utrecht 1888 – 1964). On the occasion of the Museums Night, the MAXXI Education department is offering a “Rietveld Workshop’ for families. A guided tour of the exhibition and the construction of the Dutch master’s famous Red and Blue chair in miniature.

APERITIVO AND DJ SET AT MAXXI 21
On the occasion of the Museums Night, the new MAXXI 21 bar and restaurant located in the building in front of the museum and facing onto the large piazza is organizing a DJ set with aperitivo.
