Before returning to the artist’s house, the painting is unveiled exclusively in the Museum space.
To conceal the technical compartment at the top of the walls of the house’s corridor, Giacomo Balla created a series of canvases – all of the same size – with the subjects of his artistic production of the 1910s and 1920s. Espansione Fiore n.17 (Expansion Flower No. 17, circa 1929) belongs to this series of canvases and, having been acquired by MAXXI, is now visible up close and for the first time in this space-workshop where the museum is working to ensure its safe exhibition.
The IN VIEW project allows us to present a preview of the painting, now part of the MAXXI Collection, before its relocation within Casa Balla.
IGT‘s support made the conservation review and preview exhibition of Giacomo Balla’s Espansione Fiore n.17 possible.
