The conference proposes a discussion on the theories and processes of artistic invention, with reference to the basic primary elements of composition that have fuelled the theoretical-critical debate on art history, in a dialogue between past and present.
Composition, as the relationship between lines, surfaces, the effects of color through plays of light, and the rendering of movement of “body and soul”, implies an orientation in space of a flat square or a visual screen just as in sculpture and architecture, to be experienced in order to allow the semantic value of artistic images to evolve beyond what they tell us.
