MAXXI’s Collection of Art and Architecture represents the founding element of the museum and defines its identity. Since October 2015, it has been on display with different arrangements of works.

A space fitted out with the large model, drawings and plans by Zaha Hadid Architects and four large photos by Iwan Baan together with site videos and images recounting the story of the museum from its design to its construction. And available for consultation for the first time the albums of the working drawings.
For the occasion, every Tuesday and Thursday (at 12.00 and 17.00) and every Saturday (at 11.30 and 12.00) MAXXI is offering its visitors free guided visits* to MAXXI’s “secret” spaces, its usually inaccessible areas, to discover the techniques and materials that made possible its realisation and to fully appreciate this fascinating building.

The tour then proceeds outside to examine the remarkable façade with the security staircases which is not usually accessible.
