Photographers Just For Passion

Free participation with a museum entrance ticket

This year MAXXI is once again participating in the Save the Children project “Illuminating the future. Together to defeat educational poverty in Italy”, offering the social solidarity workshop Photographers Just For Passion.

The workshop activities, launched on 1 March 2017, have seen the involvement of Mohamed Keita, Morteza Khaleghi and Loni Mestrji, three young artists from Ivory Coast, Afghanistan and Albania, now following a path of integration through the experience of culture in the field of photography, video and the visual arts. Attending the workshop with them are a group of non-accompanied minors from the CivicoZero centre and a group of students from the Tassi High School in Rome.

The young people have examined and discussed the photographic exhibition by Letizia Battaglia Just For Passion and in particular the shots of children from the city of Palermo which have served to stimulate reflections on the condition of infancy and the role of women in the participants countries of origin.

The conclusion of the workshop will also be an opportunity for encounters and exchange with the museum visitors.
