This event is presenting the book Etica, creatività, città. Giuseppe Mazzariol e l’idea di Venezia curated by Giorgio Busetto, former director of the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice.
Historian, art critic and cultural catalyst, Giuseppe Mazzariol (1922-1989) was the promoter of a vision of Venice extended to the greatest international experiences, a model of the very idea of the city, the polis that lives only if it combines urbs and civitas, monuments and manufacturers with people and skills, an organism open to active conservation, with a precise space for the contemporary.
The book is divided according to thematic nuclei: the political man, art, architecture and the territory. 14 researchers, coordinated by Luca Pes, Giovanni Bianchi and Maura Manzelle, reconstruct the multi-faceted activity of this militant intellectual, subtracting him from the local dimension in order to restore his ethical and political stature within the context of the social history of the second half of the 20th century.
