Graduated from the D.A.M.S in Bologna and specialised at the LUISS Business School in Art and Heritage Management. She began her professional career at Codess Cultura before joining MAXXI in 2007 where she launched, developed and coordinated the Fondazione’s digital presence, activities that have brought the museum recognition, both national (ICOM Italia Prize 2012 for the best use of social media) and international (People’s Lovie Award and Lovie Award Bronze 2015 for the new web site). In 2015 she conceived and curated the first edition of the international convention Digital Think-in. The digital voice of museums. She is the head of the Communications and Digital Office. She periodically teaches at universities and other educational institutions.

Luca Melchionna (Bressanone, 1971) is a professional journalist. He worked at the MART in Rovereto for 11 years, dealing with the press office and digital communications, planning the first placement for a Wikipedian in an Italian museum and developing an informal web team composed of professionals from all departments. He has worked with Palazzo Grassi – Punta della Dogana, the Museion in Bolzano and with Centrale Fies. He teaches Social Media Marketing at the Fondazione Fitzcarraldo in Turin and the University of Bolzano. He is working on conversational bots and interfaces and is very interested in investigating the impact automation will have on museum professions.

The intensive course dedicated to digital skills is returning for the second consecutive year.
A true boot camp: from 21 to 25 May, 35 hours full immersion in the classroom with lessons, workshops and seminars, open to just 30 participants
THE EDUCATIONAL PROPOSAL
For the second consecutive year, the museum is offering an intensive five-day course with a higher education programme MAXXI Know-How: the study sessions, with lectures, first-hand accounts and focus analyses, will run in parallel with the practical activities allowing what has been learnt to be put into practice immediately through multi-disciplinary projects. The workshops in which the participants will put themselves to the test will be based on five briefs prepared in partnership with five leading Italian institutions (such as Madre in Naples and the Gallerie Nazionali Barberini Corsini in Rome) and focusing on the real challenges these institutions are facing.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The course is aimed at graduates and young professionals keen to acquire specific skills to apply in the sphere of cultural institutions and organizations.
It is also aimed at those professionals who require vertical analyses in order to improve their working practices.
The course will run with a minimum of 15 participants and a maximum of 30.
WHEN
The study sessions and the training workshops will be held at the museum from 21 to 25 May 2018, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
THE ISSUES
The issues tackled include: Digital Transformation; Digital Professions and Skills; Digital Marketing and Communications; Digital Audience Development; Machine Learning; Blockchain; Open Data; Gamification; Social Media Strategy; Legislation: privacy, data processing, copyright.
HOW MUCH
The cost for each individual participant is €520.00. For myMAXXI cardholders the cost of the course is €490.00.
Travel and board and lodging expenses are to be paid by the participants.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
If you would like to participate in MAXXI’s higher education programme devoted to digital skills, please complete the following form by 7 May at 12:00 AM. MAXXI will select the participants on the basis of their curricula by 10 May. Fees must be paid by 14 May.
