The first monograph of one of the most influential and visionary architects of the 21st century.

MAXXI presents the first monograph specifically about Claude Parent‘s architecture drawings. His buildings and studies had a major role in the imaginary of all the following generations of architects, artists and thinkers such as Zaha Hadid, Daniel Libeskind, Jean Nouvel and Frank Gehry.

A nonconformist figure in modern architecture and theorist of “The Function of the Oblique”, conceived with philosopher Paul Virilio, Parent has contributed to the definition of the activity of an architect through his essays and his drawings dedicated to the movements of the populations and the structures of our world, in order to expand the reflection on the future of the human life on earth.
