From theory to production, a workshop devoted to handmade Japanese paper

Japan is a land of ancient traditions and arts such as that of producing paper from natural fibres. The word washi (from wa meaning “Japanese” and shi, which means paper) is used to describe Japanese paper made by hand using traditional methods. By following the indications of the artist Nobushige Akiyamawe shall make together a sheet of this robust paper that UNESCO has included in its Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity Lists.
Duration 2 hours and 30 minutes
€ 15 per person (max. 15 participants), € 10 for myMAXXI cardholders
The workshop will be run for a minimum of 10 participants
