Carlo Scarpa e Sandro Bagnoli. Il design per Dino Gavina

Thursday 29 January, 17.30
Archives Centre Study Room – admittance free

The book Carlo Scarpa / Sandro Bagnoli. Il design per Dino Gavina illustrates the relationship between one of the greatest architects of the XX Century and a visionary and enlightened businessman. It was Dino Gavina of Bologna who called in Carlo Scarpa to design production furniture and flanked him with the brilliant young architect Sandro Bagnoli. The research developed between 1968 and 1979 was a challenge in creative, technical, economic and cultural terms that led to the realisation of famous projects that are still in production such as the Sarpi and Florian table, the Rialto bookshelves and the Toledo bed and the design of many other pieces that remained on the drawing board.
