Three seminars with readings and reflections on the craft of writing

One of the most prestigious and sought-after Italian literary prizes that for almost 70 years has inflamed cultural passions and debates, for some writers the Premio Strega has represented the consecration of a long career while for others it has acted as a powerful launching pad. Three prize-winning authors – Edoardo Albinati, Antonio Pennachi and Alessandro Piperno – talk about themselves through readings and reflections on the craft of writing, in the light of that formidable watershed that winning the prize has represented for them.

The third seminar features Alessandro Piperno, winner of the Premio Strega in 2012 with Inseparabili. Il fuoco amico dei ricordi (Mondadori). On the occasion of the launch of his latest book Dove la storia finisce (Mondadori), on 4 October, the author, introduced by Stefano Petrocchi, will be speaking about the literary genre of the novel with particular reference to the work of Stendhal.

Alessandro Piperno, born in Rome in 1972, lectures in French Literature at the Roma Tor Vergata University. In 2005 he debuted with the novel Con le peggiori intenzioni. In 2012 he won the Premio Strega with Inseparabili, gave rise to the diptych Persecuzione (2010) dà vita al dittico Il fuoco amico dei ricordi, shortlisted for the Médicis and Femina prizes and winner of the Prix du Méilleur Livre Étranger.
