MAXXI will be participating in the major event to welcome in the new year on the city’s bridges
Ahead of dawn and through to the evening, the city will be coming together for a day of celebrations focusing on history, contemporaneity and community, through an extraordinary programme of events on the bridges of Rome and the banks of the Tiber with installations, light shows, concerts, workshops for children, theatrical performances, readings, film, music and dance: Roma Capital is inaugurating the 01 January 2017 – La Festa di Roma.
MAXXI is contributing to the initiative by presenting throughout the day on the Ponte della Musica the new model of the museum designed by Zaha Hadid that allows her architecture to be touched and caressed, allowing its futuristic forms to be better understood and guaranteeing access to our cultural heritage to all blind and partially sighted people through a tactile experience open to all. There will also be a selection of art videos screened at dawn, paying tribute to the new year in the city of Rome.
