Published on the occasion of the exhibition A Story for the Future, the book documents research into MAXXI’s activities from its opening to 2020. Ten years of exhibitions, publications, collateral events, performances, and debates recount the role played by the museum in defining the contemporary creative scene. The volume is articulated in the five thematic sections of the exhibition told through the contributions of art historians, sociologists, anthropologists, philosophers, architects and theologians. A stratification of voices, images and experiences are interwoven within the volume, giving life to a complex structure. This unprecedented archive tool lends itself to different levels of interpretation, from documentation to critical investigation, from historical memory to experimentation.
