Ten masters of contemporary Art are the protagonists of the exhibition senzamargine. Passaggi nell’arte italiana a cavallo del millennio (Passages in Italian Art at the Turn of the Millennium), an original overview of the artistic geography between the 20th and 21st centuries, placed under the sign of plurality and difference. Through the essays of international critics and scholars, this volume offers an in-depth introduction to the work of the ten artists, proposing new readings and points of valuable reflection for rewriting the canon of Art of recent decades. In the background is the need for a new narrative of the Italian experience, even beyond its territorial continuity, capable of highlighting the coexistence of traditions, lines and individual vectors that cannot be reduced to a standard matrix or “identity”.
