The catalogue is conceived as an atlas, a volume full of texts, images and interviews that recount and develop the themes presented in the exhibition, promoting new critical insights into contemporary fashion. Texts by professors, journalists, curators, writers, researchers and fashion directors are interwoven with images of fashion shows, magazine covers and views of fittings, creating a narrative in the making that makes the experience of fashion ‘memorable’. Of particular interest is the section dedicated to visions, a sequence of images taken from digital platforms and devices whose syncopated and fragmented montage alludes to the continuous scrolling of mobile phones. In close dialogue with the visual atlas is the part dedicated to ‘voices’ that recounts the experimentation of independent magazines, a selection of international magazines devoted to contemporary fashion whose pages are reproduced in this volume.
