The catalogue documents the work of the finalists of the MAXXI BVLGARI PRIZE, the prize dedicated to young Italian artists aimed at enhancing and promoting contemporary creativity. The curator’s essays have been combined with those of the award selectors and jurors to create a vivid fresco of our society touching on different languages and themes: from Alessandra Ferrini’s socio-historical research, to Silvia Rosi’s investigation centred on the photographic medium, to the interest in the transformations of matter expressed in the sculptures of Namsal Siedlecki. The essays are richly illustrated with stills from videos, photographs, drawings and unpublished sketches outlining the multifaceted universe of these artists.
