Published on the occasion of Luca Vitone’s exhibitions at MAXXI and Villa Adriana, this volume documents the series of works created in the imperial villa in Tivoli starting in 2018: canvases exposed to climatic conditions are transformed into landscape paintings, monochromes inhabited by fragments, dust and traces of atmospheric agents. The reflection on the place is developed and deepened in the texts collected within the volume. Contributions from curators and art historians trace the artistic path of Luca Vitone from the mid-eighties to the present with this theme, so central to his work. In addition, a rich iconographic apparatus and an artist’s bio traces his main exhibitions from the beginning to the present day.
