From the pioneers of the early 20th century to today’s professionals, from multidisciplinary collectives to large international studios, the catalogue of the Buone Nuove (Good News) exhibition documents the increasingly intense and authoritative presence of new players in the productive fabric and creative panorama of contemporary architecture, with particular attention to the issue of gender and the presence of women. The volume recounts the lives and work of over one hundred protagonists of architectural thought and practice in Italy and worldwide through essays, interviews, biographies, images and projects. A fresco of voices and experiences is interwoven within the volume in a path divided into four sections: Stories, which brings together an archive of female architects and designers from the early 20th century to the present; Practices, focusing on eleven authors representing new ways of conceiving architecture; Narratives, which brings together the contributions of historians, theorists, museum and magazine directors; and finally Visions, with video works dedicated to the theme of gender equality.
