The Oscar-winning director’s career, thoughts on religion, fears and inspirations paint an unprecedented portrait of one of the leading exponents of the seventh art.
On March 3, 2016, in New York, Father Spadaro met with Scorsese at his home to discuss Silence, the Italian-American director’s film about the persecution of the Jesuits in Japan, and his relationship with faith. That first chat, a precursor of stimuli and suggestions for both of them, started a dialogue that continues today.
