A closer look at Schiattarella Associati’s design of the first space in the Gulf area entirely designed for digital and immersive art.
Conceived as part of Saudi Vision 2030, the Diriyah Art Futures is a large 6,550-square-metre hub located northwest of Riyadh. ‘A Pompeii swept by the desert winds’, as historian Robert Lacey called it, is now a symbol of the country’s cultural renaissance.
A site in the heart of the desert, close to one of the most important historical and archaeological UNESCO sites in the Arabian Peninsula, At Turaif, the original residence of the Al Saud royal family, on the ridge of a wadi, an agricultural depression in the middle of the desert plateau.
